Import Super One is yet to appear on course in 2016, but remains outright $3.80 favourite in 2016 DC McKay Stakes betting markets with leading online bookie Ladbrokes.com.au.

Super One began his racing career under the guidance of Michael Freedman in Singapore and quickly stamped himself as a colt to follow when taking out each of his first four starts, including both the Group 2 Golden Horseshoe (1200m) and Group 3 Juvenile Championship (1200m).

Debuting in Australia for second in a Cranbourne minor over 1000m, the son of I Am Invincible was unable to make anything of an impact in the Group 1 Coolmore Stud Stakes (1200m) in October and was returned to the paddock.

Allocated barrier 7, Super One is sure to lay a great account for himself in the DC McKay Stakes with only 54.5kgs in tow.

Thermal Current has so-far received the greatest share of bets for success in 2016 DC McKay Stakes betting markets; cutting in from a quote of $4.50 to currently figure as outright second-favourite and $4.40 market mover.

Beginning his career under the guidance of the recently-retired Peter Moody, Thermal Current has posted four wins and a further nine minors through a total of twenty-six competitive starts.

Ending his tenure under the care of Moody a close third in the Listed Bob Hoysted Quality (1000m) on March 5th, the Exceed And Excel gelding began his time with Darren Weir in the best way possible when charging home to win the Listed Hareeba Stakes (1200m) at Mornington on April 2nd.

Having placed a credible fourth in the Gold Sprint (1200m) at Caulfield last time out on April 16th, Thermal Current has drawn ideally in barrier 2 and will be partnered by in-form hoop Damian Lane in the DC McKay Stakes.

Nostradamus carries winning form into the DC McKay Stakes but has interestingly drifted to a particularly generous quote of $6 for success in the Group 3 feature.

Nostradamus began his racing career with Team Hawkes in 2014, but has been transferred to the care of leading South Australian trainer Phillip Stokes following something of a lacklustre 2015 campaign.

Trialling well in the lead-up to his return this time, the Medaglia D’oro entire clearly took benefit from a first-up run for sixth in the Listed Manihi Classic (1100m) when savaging the line for success in the Group 3 RN Irwin Stakes (1100m) a fortnight ago.
