Super One has not been seen at the races in 2016 but remains outright $3.80 favourite in DC McKay Stakes betting markets with leading online bookie Ladbrokes.com.au, ahead of Thermal Current ($4.40) and Nostradamus ($6).

Will Super One justify favouritism and win the DC McKay Stakes, or will one of his talented rivals find the line in the clear?

Nostradamus ($6)

Nostradamus has returned to slick form since transferring to the care of Phillip Stokes this time and offers punters exceptional value for money at current 2016 DC McKay Stakes odds. Posting a career total of four wins and two minors through eighteen competitive starts, the Medaglia D’Oro entire clearly took plenty of benefit from a first-up run for sixth in the Listed Manihi Classic (1100m) when savaging the line for success in the Group 3 RN Irwin Stakes (1100m) on April 23rd. Drawn well in barrier 3, Nostradamus will be partnered by leading South Australian hoop Dom Tourneur once more in the DC McKay Stakes.

Thermal Current ($4.40)

Winner of the 2015 edition of the DC McKay Stakes, Thermal Current is drawn well in barrier 2 and has so-far received the greatest share of bets for success this weekend; cutting into a quote of $4.40. Claiming four wins and a further nine minors through twenty-six career starts, the Exceed And Excel gelding capped his tenure under the guidance of Peter Moody a credible third in the Listed Bob Hoysted Handicap (1000m) on March 5th, and debuted for Darren Weir with an impressive performance to win the Listed Hareeba Stakes (1200m) at Mornington on April 2nd. Having placed fourth in the Gold Sprint (1200m) last time out, Thermal Current will be partnered by Damien Lane this weekend.

Super One ($3.80)

It is difficult to say how Super One will perform first-up, but the classy import has been charged with carrying only 54.5kgs and should find a good position off pace from barrier 7. Debuting to racing in Singapore under the guidance of Michael Freedman, Super One won each of his first four starts including both the Group 2 Golden Horseshoe (1200m) and Group 3 Juvenile Championship (1200m) with complete ease. While unable to make anything of an impact in the Group 1 Coolmore Stud Stakes (1200m) in late spring, the I Am Invincible colt has trialled well in the lead-up to his 2016 return.
